:
IMPROVERS
: approx. 3 to 9 months
Improvers learn:
a few ‘tricks’ that make dancing more fun; tips for
dealing with the differences between simple turns,
spin turns, and pivot turns; simple turn patterns
where both partners are moving at the same time,
such as ‘changing-places’ and ‘figure of 8’; to use
the basic Cuban ‘open-out’, and Cross Body Lead
patterns, to develop short routines; to further
explore rhythms and develop body movement. Men begin
to lead, and ladies follow, with more confidence and
style.
Am I ready to move-up?
Can you say ‘Yes’ to the following
statements?
I’ve been dancing the equivalent of one lesson a
week for about 9 months. I’ve covered most of the
syllabus above. I’m entirely confident with the
rhythm; can easily change from one type of footwork
to another; am rarely on the wrong foot; and can
mostly cope with the pace of normal Salsa music. |
